Implementation is the process of executing the various steps set forth in a strategic plan. Implementation is not a one-time event, but rather an ongoing process that includes many stages that take place over time and that involves ongoing decision making. Well-executed implementation plans include the following:

  1. A detailed plan for the realization and completion of the goals, strategies, and specific action steps set forth in the strategic plan.
  2. A method to track action steps, both ongoing and time  limited.
  3. A focus on fidelity to proven practices and programs to  ensure the best results.
